we had an unexpected day at home today as evan woke up sick. :(  scott's mom is being treated for bronchitis......so, I'm hoping this is just a cold.  

i took a break today from the unending list of to-dos and worked on applying the fun stuff to the mistreatments.  of course, after i finished, i realized i needed more to cover the backing.  and, those three packages of ring clips i bought......nowhere to be found, so they are still hanging by just a few.  but, this is the transformation so far with phase III to come.......

this is another sweet thing from a gift card i recently received.  i can't have potpourri because of scott - so at least with this, i can see it......

messy, messy desk that i've been at most of the day.  hey, jen - does the one i caught on my slide show look familiar? :)  oh, yeah....GOT to get to the post office!!!!

{urgent prayer request}

I learned last night in church that a dear family has been hit with a very scary health situation.  After I half-way gathered my wits about me, I called her.  My initial intention was to go to her, but, I couldn't bear to wait the length of the drive.  She answered, which was a miracle in itself.  Please, please pray for this family!  Roy is in his upper 40's and just learned on Thursday that the newly discovered area on his pancreas is highly suspicious.  Of great concern is that they are uncertain how large the area is as it is basically hiding/wrapped/below? a major artery.  They have one of the best surgeons in the country and even though he said "this is not good" he followed up by saying he had had success with it.   Now, they just desperately need to determine what they are dealing with - or actually the area and where it is - as she said they know what it is, although she can't bring herself to say it.  My heart broke for all of them.  We cried and had periods of silence simply from disbelief.  His endoscopy is scheduled for next Wednesday.   This will be a long and very trying week for all of them.  Their two oldest daughters, Corey and Casey are both in nursing school - just at different schools.  Casidey, the youngest is at home. I left a message for Corey, but, got to talk with Casey.  They are crushed right now.  There is so much to pray for in this situation - it's that life changing second we all fear.  Unfortunately, they are living it right now.    Lets absolutely surround them!

Seriously, why do I even?  Please, please pray that the phone call that I received last evening at 7 pm-ish does not send me out of town today.  Believe me, if you know me, I really do love my job and am sooooooo thankful at how good they have been to me considering Scott's situation.  No complaints there.  And, yes, I do often complain about the 63 boxes of medical records I am always reading.  Does anyone even have to wonder why I am so in love with taking pictures of kiddos?  Both are definitely challenging, but, one is alot more fun! 

Okay, back to my needed prayer.  I have a date with my son (both actually) for church tonight.  I do not want to have to break it.  If I have to leave, I hope it is tomorrow & just not today.  I could cry!!!

completely, no disrespect intended at all.  But, as I ordered pics today for "The Wall" in my home.......I have cried and cried.  I'm completely pathetic.   A sweet friend of mine, Heather, has a wall I coveted even before I saw it.  Because I knew.  And, if you know Heather, you know exactly what I mean.   She has a wall that is covered in pictures.  It is breathtaking.  And, I have a wall.  I've had a huge, blank wall for the 11 years that we have been in this house.  I have bought iron things, beautiful fabric, prints, etc.  It's as blank as the day we painted it the first time. Remember the wallpaper that is still up?  It is fair to say that I get easily intimidated by decorating projects.   Well, I am totally going to copy Heather's wall.  :)  Different kids, different pics, different frames - but, the idea I'm in love with.   Well, I just ordered three big recent pics I took of the boys and my daddy's old truck.  The entire concept takes my breath away.  My boys and my daddy's truck.  Ahhhh.....if only. 

To "qualify" for the wall, it has to be a picture that I want to hang for a lifetime of one or both of the boys.  I may be a little lenient on that, but overall, that's my plan.   Right now, I have a total of eight that will be added.  With room for more.  A combination of black and white and color.  So, if you go by the decorating rules of not overloading your home with family pictures.....just keep driving by mine.  Because I'm in overload and I love it.  Remember that tiny wallet I have of my daddy?  That's it.  So, I want overload.  Last week, I carefully carried in two crumbling pictures to have framed of my grandpa and grandma.  They were 16 and 18. They were beautiful.  They are beautiful and little did they know they would be gracing the a granddaughters bedroom wall of these years later.  True treasures is untold ways.

Grandpa!!  I know the party you are having for your 90th is so much better than the one we used to sit and talk about. :)  This one is really hard for me because I know that you wanted to hit that 90th mark.  I miss you so much it hurts, but, I'm so happy you are where you are & that I had you for as long as I did.  You are one of the biggest blessings of my life and you are still a part of my everyday.  I love you more than the day you left.........

We actually made it to church.  Well, sort-of.  Scott always comes in after the music is finished - today he didn't.  That wasn't too shocking as sometimes, someone will find him and keep in company out in the foyer throughout the service.  I had nursery duty afterwards, and didn't think to make certain he made it to Sunday School.  Well, he didn't.  A migraine hit and he spent over 2.5 hours in the car.  In the heat.  With a violent migraine.  I feel worse than terrible.  Besides the obvious, that is what I hate so much about his situation - the uncertainty and inability to plan the normal things.  He is sleeping now in a cool, dark house & bless his heart,  has not complained even once about having to wait on us.  He is just beyond miserable and I still feel beyond horrible.  

But, on a MUCH, MUCH lighter note...today on the way to church (finally, as we have missed SO much this summer)..Evan got to take his new big boy Bible to church today.  Scott and I got it for him for his birthday.  He was too excited..........until he remembered....he can't read.  Then, I had to reassure him it was absolutely fine he couldn't read, God didn't care one little bit.......then was a happy camper! :)  And, surprisingly, he made it back home with it. :)

I asked Noah how his new class was as last week was promotion Sunday (which he missed).  He said it was great, but, he's pretty sure he didn't go to the right class.  Then a reiteration of the change of classes with the new school year.  He just thought he had sat through the wrong class poor thing!

This is what I overheard Evan muttering to himself this morning.  I just wish you could have heard it.  "I'm Batman, alrighty."   Out of no where.  He could not have been more confident and sure about it.

Alrighty?  it must be my mother? :) 

{a week in review}

as usual, I am behind on everything......here are some tidbits of the week, hopefully, I can post pics soon! 

*  Noah is thrilled with 2nd grade.  Given, it's only the fifth day, but so far, no trouble for "socializing."

*  Evan has been a little clingy when I drop him off for his 3 hours of preschool on Tuesdays and Thursdays......but, has not cried.  Which in turn, means mommy has not cried.  I did almost have to leave my right leg in the classroom on Tuesday, but, he let go of it fairly quickly yesterday.   His teacher told me that his reputation preceded him.  Hmmmmmmm...............

*  I have a new baby cousin on the way!!!! I'm thrilled for our family in Oklahoma City!

*  Evan is completely enjoying the "tooter" he received for his birthday.  He wants to ride it 24/7.  He's a little speed demon!!

*  Noah got a little, little motorcycle.  A Honda 50.  He is clearly not ready for it, but, probably fairly soon.  I am far from thrilled.  He is on Cloud 9! 

* my back is finally MUCH better. Still not 100%, but this has been the best week so far. No medications.

*  my little break is over and the photography is about to kick back into full swing.  I am praying that I can stay much more balanced than I did in the spring/summer.   I am hoping I have learned about scheduling and not overbooking from my mistakes!!!  It's very difficult for me to say no......especially for family portraits.......but, I am having to.  Plus, there are great photographers in the area to refer to......so, that helps! 

*  pray for Scott.  They doubled one of his medications last week.  He is a total zombie and sleeping so much, it breaks my heart.   Evan told me this morning that he doesn't want to be a PSP driver any more (UPS - remember his little costume!) because he doesn't want headaches like Daddy. :(  Instead, for today, he wants to be a bug catcher. 

Busy, busy weekend!!! I will check back in as soon as I can!
